Drugs bust: Richard Callaghan (41) charged

A 41-year-old Londonderry man has been remanded in custody on charges linked to the discovery by the police of cocaine and cannabis in the city last weekend.

Richard Callaghan, unemployed, from Rathmore Crescent in the Creggan area, is charged with possessing, possessing with intent to supply, and being concerned in supplying quantities of cocaine and cannabis on June 13.

The police have valued the drugs at £125,000. No details about the find were given as there was no defence application for bail. The defendant, who was connected to the charges by a detective constable, was remanded in custody until July 10.
