Duke of Edinburgh Award adventure seekers hit Banbridge

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award brought the world of the outdoors to the Outlet, Banbridge, for a weekend of hands-on adventure activities coupled with bargain shopping.

The Family Adventure Bonanza gave visitors a chance to try their hand at activities including laser clay pigeon shooting, archery, a climbing tower, and up-close demonstrations with birds of prey - while at the same time raising funds for the charity.

Kate Thompson, NI Director of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, said: "The fundraiser helped to support our work in Northern Ireland.

"Through the money raised, we will be able to reach more young people and enable them to complete their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, developing skills and providing opportunities which some can never hope to experience elsewhere.”

Siobhan McKeown, marketing manager of the Outlet, said: “We are extremely excited about this partnership with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. As a registered charity, it is doing amazing work with young people across Northern Ireland.
