DUP leader Arlene Foster sends her support as Ireland bid for Grand Slam
She said she was proud of the Ulster men in the team
DUP leader Arlene Foster has sent a message of support to Rory Best and the Ireland team as they take on England this weekend in the hope of winning the match and securing the Six Nations Grand Slam trophy.
Mrs Foster said, “Rory Best has captained his team to top of the leader board in this year’s Six Nations and is to be congratulated on winning the Championship. It would be absolutely wonderful if Ireland can go further and win the Grand Slam on Saturday.
"I have been equally delighted to see Ulstermen, Jacob Stockdale, Chris Farrell and now Iain Henderson, play alongside Rory Best on the squad. Chris is a well known man in the Clogher Valley, which I represent, and he has made us all very proud. We want to wish him well as he recovers from his injury.
"We will be cheering Rory and the Ireland team on tomorrow and I want to take the opportunity to send my best wishes to them in what will be a historic match at Twickenham.”
