Eamonn Holmes named new hospice charity ambassador

By Adrian Rutherford

Eamonn Holmes has become an ambassador for a leading cancer charity.

The TV presenter is lending his support to the Northern Ireland Hospice and the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice.

He joins Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers, golf star Tom McKibben and Miss Northern Ireland Anna Henry as ambassadors.

Eamonn said: "The Northern Ireland Hospice is part of the fabric of north Belfast, where I grew up. It was always there, always helping people, and local people had a great appreciation of the hospice's work and have always been there to support it."

Eamonn visited the Northern Ireland Hospice and Children's Hospice yesterday and met with patients and staff.

Northern Ireland Hospice CEO Heather Weir said Eamonn was committed to raising awareness of their care services.
