East Belfast homes project nearly complete
A cross-community organisation is providing six homes for low-income families in east Belfast as part of a new project.
Habitat for Humanity Northern Ireland’s initiative, at Templemore Avenue, is aimed at the area’s ongoing regeneration. Six homes at a project at Madrid Street are due to be completed later this month.
Working together with volunteers, selected families help themselves by investing ‘sweat equity’ (minimum 300 hours of their own labour) to build their own homes and their neigbours’.
Families interested in finding out more about the project and how to get involved can go to |an open information evening tonight at the Oasis Centre in Castlereagh from 7-9pm.
