East Belfast Mission gets local donation

An east Belfast charity is set to benefit from hundreds of pounds in donations as part of a corporate social responsibility initiative.

Ecom Software Ltd, a new tenant at the Northern Ireland Science Park, recently made the donations to the East Belfast Mission, located on the Newtownards Road.

Along with a cash donation of £400, the company also donated office equipment.

Welcoming the move, East Belfast Mission PR and business development manager, Cathy Megahey, said: “We are thrilled to gain donations from local companies and organisations and are delighted that they support community charities such as us.

“Ecom have generously donated to the East Belfast Mission cause and we would like to thank them very much for their kindness.

“We hope other companies will follow in their footsteps and consider us for future donations to help support our work.”

Director of Ecom, Roger Martin, added: “With no need to bring along office equipment from our old premises we made a furniture contribution to the East Belfast Mission along with a £400 cash donation.

“At Ecom we try to give back to the community as much as possible and the East Belfast Mission truly is a fantastic cause.”

The East Belfast Mission (EBM) is a community based charity with several projects serving local people including a homeless hostel, an employability project, a meals on wheels service, youth and counselling work and a worshipping congregation.

As part of its social economy projects, the EBM runs a Mission café and re:store charity shops, with all income generated used to help sustain the other projects.
