East Belfast police appeals

A number of incidents are currently being investigated by police in the east Belfast area.

Cregagh Road Burglary

At approximately 9.30pm on Thursday, March 4, two males stole a number of items from a house in the Cregagh Road area of east Belfast.

Entry was gained to a safe in a bedroom and jewellery was stolen which included rings, a bracelet and locket.

Cash and a White Star Line silver teapot were also taken.

Jocelyn Street Burglary

A number of items were taken during the burglary of a house in the Jocelyn Street area of east Belfast during the early hours of Monday, March,1.

The haul included a 32 inch flat screen television along with an Xbox 360.

Entry to the premises was gained through a rear window.

Tamery Pass Burglary

Two cars — a red Citroen C3 and a black Seat Ibiza— were stolen from outside a house in the Tamery Pass area of east Belfast, some time between 12.30am and 7am on Monday, March 1.

Burglars broke into the house and took keys, a red Samsung laptop and charger, a silver Toshiba laptop, a silver JVC Handy cam, a green Samsung digital camcorder, and a white Nintendo DS with a Harry Potter, Half Blood Prince game.

Arson Attack, Knock

An estimated £100,000 worth of damage was caused, when a car wash at a service station on the Knock Road was completely destroyed during an arson attack.

The premises was deliberately set alight at around 11.25pm and the blaze was brought under control by the Fire and Rescue Service.

Police are particularly keen to speak to a male, aged in his twenties and dressed in a navy jacket, who was spotted close to the service station at around the time of the fire.
