A 34-year-old man arrested on suspicion of burglary was released on police bail

Police in Belfast are investigating a distraction burglary in the Donegall Park Avenue area of city.

Commenting on the incident, which happened on Saturday, May 26. Detective Inspector Anthony Kelly said: “The victim of this burglary is an older person who was distracted by a male in the garden of her property. On returning to the house she found that her handbag had been rifled through and a sum of cash and a number of personal items stolen.

“We believe that while the lady was in her garden, a suspect has entered the property and burgled it. While not physically harmed during the incident, the victim has been left badly shaken.

“A 34-year-old man arrested on suspicion of burglary was interviewed and subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries."
