Elderly couple left 'shaken' after burglary in west Belfast

An elderly couple have been left shaken after a burglary at their home in the Falls Road in west Belfast.

Entry was forced to the house between 11.45am and midday on Thursday through a door at the rear of the property.

A sum of money was taken.

The occupant disturbed two males who made off through the back garden and on towards La Salle Drive.

The first male was described as being aged in his 30’s, around 5’5” tall, clean shaven with short dark hair and was wearing a dark T-shirt and dark trousers. The second male was similar in height and build and also wore a dark T-shirt and trousers.

Detective Inspector Tom Phillips said: “The occupants of the house have been left very shaken following this incident and I would appeal to the public to assist us catch those responsible.

"If you noticed any suspicious activity in the area on Thursday morning or have any information which can assist us with our enquiries I would ask you to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 568 08/08/19.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
