Elderly man left shaken as his Crumlin home ransacked while he slept

A man aged in his 80s has been left shaken after his Crumlin home was ransacked while he slept.

The elderly man was asleep in his Parkfiled home when the property was entered and ransacked overnight.

Detective Sergeant Neil Maxwell said: "Those responsible forced the back door to gain entry. They also entered an adjoining garage.

"At this time it is not believed that anything has been taken.

"While the elderly resident was not hurt, awaking to discover that his house had been targeted has left him understandably shaken.

"We are keen to hear from anyone with information about this crime or anyone who was in Parkfield at any time overnight and who might have seen something that could help the investigation."

Detectives can be contacted at Antrim Reactive and Organised Crime on 101.
