Emergency services attend incident at Belfast's river Lagan

Emergency services in Northern Ireland have attended the scene of an incident on the River Lagan, in Belfast.

The Northern Ireland Fire Service, Ambulance and police have taken part in the rescue operation.

The incident happened near Donegal Quay on Thursday morning.

Police said a man was in distress in the water and has since been rescued and taken to hospital.

It happened as morning commuters were passing the busy area on their way to work.
