Emma to put in a Star-Spangled performance
A Northern Ireland teenager will be taking centre-stage on the ice to sing the American national anthem before a major sporting event.
Emma Martin has been selected to perform The Star-Spangled Banner ahead of the NI Connections Friendship Four Ice Hockey tournament.
Players from Quinnipiac University, the University of Vermont, St Lawrence University and the University of Massachusetts will take to the ice at the SSE Arena over Thanksgiving weekend of November 25 and 26 for the only event of its kind outside the US.
Footage of the sporting action will be screened to a global audience of tens of thousands.
"I feel so honoured to have been chosen for this very special performance and I'm really excited to be given this opportunity," 18-year-old Emma said.
