Enterprise fair comes to Rathcoole

The Rathcoole Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership is planning to hold an Employability and Enterprise Fair this month, giving a jobs boost to the local area.

The fair takes place on Tuesday, June 29 in Rathcoole Youth Centre.

It will be a chance for unemployed people to get information on job vacancies, potential routes to employment and training opportunities within the Borough and find out how to start up a business. Two information sessions will run; 11am to 1:30pm for 16-24 year olds and 2pm to 5:30pm for 25 years and over.

Asda is just one of the employers that will be present at the event offering advice and opportunities to obtain employment in their new store in Belfast. Budding entrepreneurs can find out how to get their business idea off the ground as Mallusk Enterprise Park will also be there to offer advice, guidance and training opportunities.

Local entrepreneurs will also be on hand to share their experiences of starting their own businesses.

The Citizens Advice Bureau will be providing the opportunity to look at “better off” calculations. Training providers will have details about training programmes being offered for the year ahead and career advice for those looking for a career change.

Speaking about the event Phil Hamilton, Chair of Rathcoole Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership, said: “We hope the event will make people aware of the support that is available on their doorstep and help them to see a brighter future! Working closely with employers, training providers and statutory agencies this event is very timely given the current economic climate and recent rise in unemployment locally.”
