The former chief of the Northern Ireland Civil Service is to join the board of a peace-building charity.
Sir Malcolm McKibbin, who was the most senior adviser to the former First and Deputy First Ministers and secretary to the Executive, will link up with Co-operation Ireland on September 26.
Other board members include former Taoiseach John Bruton and former First Minister Peter Robinson.
Sir Malcolm said he was delighted to join the board.
"I think the work of Co-operation Ireland is crucial at this stage especially given the challenges that both Brexit and the current stalemate at Stormont present across the island of Ireland and between the UK and Ireland," he added.
The body's chairman Dr Christopher Moran said Sir Malcolm would bring "a wealth of experience".
He added: "It's an inspiring move for the organisation."
