A young mother-of-two wept as she told a Belfast court of being raped by her former partner after he had baby-sat their young children in October 2010.
The woman (25) explained that although they had split some months earlier, they had remained friends because of their children.
She told the Crown Court that she arranged for her ex-partner to stay over so they both could take their one-year-old son on a hospital appointment the next day.
Although she had made a mistake in the appointment date, he had offered to baby-sit while she went to a friend's house. When she returned home, he was in the living room while she went to bed.
However, she claimed she was awakened by her former partner on top of her, raping her, which he continued to do despite her “roaring and shouting” at him to stop.
She beat him about the face before she ordered him out of the house, the court was told.
The man admits he had sex but claims it was consensual.
When the defence suggested she'd invited her ex-lover into her bed, she said: “No, you're wrong.”
The case continues.
