Ex-Bombardier worker becomes UUP councillor
Former Bombardier worker Robert Foster has been co-opted onto Antrim and Newtownabbey council by the Ulster Unionists to replace John Scott, who is stepping down due to ill health.
Mr Scott defected to the DUP last year, but announced shortly afterwards that he was retiring on health grounds. The seat reverted back to his former party with his resignation.
UUP leader Robin Swann said: "Having known Robert Foster for a number of years I know that he will be a dedicated, conscientious public representative.
"Robert is a team player and with his knowledge of the area he represents, he will make sure that he is a voice for his constituents."
