Ex-DUP aide David McConaghie charged with voyeurism: alleged offences involve hidden camera in David Simpson's office toilet
A former adviser to a DUP MP has been charged with voyeurism two years after his initial arrest.
David McConaghie (49) is to appear at Craigavon Magistrates Court on September 25 in connection with alleged offences involving a hidden camera in a toilet cubicle at DUP offices in Thomas Street, Portadown.
The offices were used by Upper Bann MP David Simpson whom McConaghie worked for at the time as an aide, press officer and speech writer.
Mr Simpson reported the discovery of the cameras to the police in September, 2012.
It is understood that McConaghie had left the DUP before the alleged offence.
McConaghie was an ordained member of the Free Presbyterian Church and a member of the Independent Orange Order.
A PSNI statement issued yesterday said that the alleged offences dated from January 1 to September 12, 2012.
