False rape suspect's court mix-up
A woman accused of making a fake rape allegation has been released on bail.
Lisha Tait was arrested on Saturday at Belfast Magistrates Court after twice failing to turn up at the Crown Court for arraignment.
Tait, with an address at Laurel Lodge, Flush Park, Lisburn, is charged with perverting the course of justice on dates between July 6 and August 15 last year in that she alleged she had been raped by a man and made "two false witness statements".
The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Gordon Kerr QC when she failed to appear before him on Thursday and Friday.
On Saturday her solicitor Ryan Logan said there had been a "breakdown in communications", adding she had mistakenly turned up at Lisburn Court on Friday.
Judge George Conner released Tait on her own bail of £350 and instructed her to keep in contact with her solicitors about future court dates.
