Family find missing man's body in Gransha area of Derry


The body has been found of a vulnerable man who went missing on New Year's Eve.

William Mowbray's body was discovered by members of his family in the Gransha area of Londonderry on Friday.

Around 20 friends and family had scoured land close to the River Foyle for the 59-year-old, who was from the Newbuildings area.

Mr Mowbray was last seen at a hospital in Derry last Tuesday.

His grieving family thanked all those who had helped in the search.

"The support we have been shown so far is great and I just want to thank everybody for what they have done," said Mr Mowbray's son, Paul.
