Family in Twinbrook house as gun gang open fire

By Chris McCullough

Detectives are investigating a shooting in Twinbrook when three masked men shot through a door of a house.

A family-of-six, a mother, father and four children, were in the house on the outskirts of west Belfast at the time but all escaped injury.

The police said that one shot was fired, causing damage to the front door.

It is thought the attack was carried out by the Action Against Drugs group, as graffiti referring to the group was daubed on a fence near to the house.

Detectives in Lisburn have said all lines of enquiry are being investigated.

Inspector David McBride said: "Three men wearing dark clothing and masks were seen in the area at the time of the incident and I would appeal to anyone who saw these men or who has any information about the incident to contact detectives at Lisburn on 101.

"Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
