The funeral of a Belfast mother-of-three who died suddenly is to take place today.

Kerry Lee Liddy (31) from the New Lodge passed away on Saturday, April 6. She is survived by her children Aoife, Rhia and Caodhan.

Her funeral Mass will be held in St Patrick's Church, Donegall Street, at 10am followed by burial at Carnmoney Cemetery.

The devoted mother had been enjoying a rare night out with her sister Monica before the tragedy.

"It's just so sudden. Me, her and three other friends went to the bingo on Friday night down at Yorkgate and we went to Gallagher's bar next door after and she was full of joy and we had the best night," she told Belfast Live.

Monica said her sister had been drinking in moderation and the cause of her death was still unexplained.

The PSNI is awaiting the results of a toxicology test.

"All she would have done was drink a couple of wee bottles, she would never, ever have taken any drugs," her sister added. The family tried to contact her on the Saturday morning, but there was no reply.

"It's just worse for us not knowing what happened, she only went to a game of bingo and came home dead," her sister said.

Ms Lee Liddy was understood to have still had a faint heartbeat when help arrived but could not be revived.
