Family of six escape injury in Craigavon shooting

A Craigavon family of six, including two children, have escaped injury following a shooting on their home.

A shot was fired through the kitchen window of the house in the Drumgor area at around 10pm on Wednesday night.

Ulster Unionist Doug Beattie MLA urged people to contact police.

He said: "This is deeply worrying news coming through this morning.  A family home, with children upstairs in bed, was attacked in the hours of darkness.

“We again are seeing the use of firearms on the streets of Craigavon, and we could well have been facing a fatality here this morning.

“I would encourage anyone with any information to contact the PSNI by phoning 101.

“We cannot allow this behaviour to prevail in our society, in Craigavon or indeed anywhere else. “

Police are investigating and have appealed for information.
