Fan's bid to pay off £7m contract of Liverpool boss

By Jonny Bell

A disgruntled football fan has kicked-off a campaign to raise the funds needed to pay off Brendan Rodgers' contract with Liverpool.

The under-fire Carnlough man has come under pressure after a disappointing season last year and a poor start to the new campaign.

And after the Reds' disappointing performance against fierce rivals Manchester United at the weekend, pressure has intensified.

It's been reported Liverpool owners FSG would need to pay Rodgers around £7m to leave Anfield.

Now fan Michael Gavin has set up an online gofundme campaign to raise the money.

He appealed for people to donate. "Brendan Rodgers' time is up - there's not much more of this insipid football anyone can take," he wrote.

After one day, 22 people had pledged €400 to the campaign.
