Farmers warned on machinery theft

Farmers and rural householders are being urged to be vigilant after a spate of robberies across south Down in which machinery and other valuable items were stolen.

South Down Sinn Féin Assembly Member Willie Clarke has urged farmers to be on the lookout for suspicious activity after a meeting with the Ulster Farmers’ Union.

“There seem to be well organised gangs who are possibly stealing farm machinery to order,” said the Sinn Fein man.
