A Co Londonderry father-of-three was laid to rest yesterday after he was killed in a car crash.

Wilson Atchison (42), from the Bushmills area, was married with three daughters and was highly respected in the farming community.

He passed away after being injured in a two-vehicle crash in Co Fermanagh on the A4 near Brookeborough last Friday morning.

A family notice said he was the "dearly loved husband of Nichelle, devoted father of Rachel, Molly and Evie, dearest son of Raymond and Olive, step-son of Annette and dear brother of David".

The funeral service took place at Ballyrashsane Presbyterian Church where Mr Atchison had been an active member.

Hundreds turned out for the service, with a piper accompanying the funeral cortege before interment at Ballywillan Cemetery.

The PSNI is investigating the fatal incident and has appealed for witnesses to assist with its enquiries.
