Fire at cannabis factory

Police responding to a housefire in east Belfast have uncovered a suspected cannabis factory.

Detectives have just released the details of the find, shortly before noon on Thursday July 8. Police and the Fire Service were called to the fire Nendrum Gardens and discovered a large number of partly grown cannabis plants worth about £250,000. Items used in the cultivation of cannabis were also seized.

The plants have an estimated cultivated street value of approximately £300,000.

Four men have been arrested and are assisting police with their enquiries.
