Fire Service come under attack while putting out fire in Derry

The Fire Service has come under attack while attending to an incident in Londonderry.

Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service were attempting to extinguish a fire that had been set in a tree on the Racecourse Road in the Pennyburn area of the city.

The crew had to abandon their efforts due to "items being chuckled at them".

Writing on PSNI Foyle's Facebook page, a spokesperson said: "The group ran from police one of them left a nice black and red BMX behind. So if Johnny comes home tonight without his bike you can call at Ballyarnett Npt offices to collect.

"Parents do you know where you kids are, who they are with and what they are doing."
