First burglary on Copeland Islands
Three men will appear in court later this month following the first burglary on the Copeland Islands at the weekend.
The men, aged 18, 24 and 42, will appear at Ards Magistrates Court on Friday, June 24, accused of breaking into a premises at 9pm last Friday.
The owner of the property called the police and used his boat to help officers get to the island, just off Donaghadee in Co Down.
Inspector James Ellson said: "There have been arrests on the Copelands before with regard to the disruption of nesting birds and the theft of their eggs.
However, we believe this to be the first time an arrest for burglary has occurred."
