This is the woman who died with her partner in mysterious circumstances in west Belfast last Thursday.

The bodies of Cathy Cosgrove and partner Sam Gibson were discovered at the home they shared in Woodside Drive, Poleglass, by Ms Cosgrove's young son.

It is understood that Thomas (16) raised the alarm after discovering his mother lying inside the house shortly before 11am.

Her partner was found dead a short time later in an upstairs room.

Police are still investigating the circumstances of the sudden deaths of the couple as police await post-mortem results.

Mr Gibson's daughter Cara, who lives in Canada, paid a moving tribute to her father after hearing about his death.

Writing on Facebook, she said: "Dear Dad, I wish I could turn back time and tell you just how much you meant to me. I don't think I will ever get over this heartbreak...

"I don't know why this happened... I wish I could be with you. I wish I could tell you I love you one last time... or just get one more call from you. "I wish my kids could have met you and known you... I know they would have loved you so much."

Mr Gibson was well-known in pool-playing circles.

One friend, Paddy McLoughlin, wrote: "Absolutely gutted to hear the news of the passing of my good friend Sam Gibson."

He added: "Sam was a great inspiration and someone I looked up to."
