Five arrests in PSNI burglary probe - shots fired at home

Five people have been arrested in a PSNI burglary probe in which shots were fired at a Co Down flat.

The incident happened on January 14 last year.

Shots were fired at a window in the Castleview property in Killyleagh. Reports at the time said up to a dozen men had gathered outside the home before the incident.

While the two men inside were not hurt, they were said to be left badly shaken. Local representatives said they did not believe there was a sectarian motive. Three people were arrested and later released by police pending further investigation.

On Tuesday, five men aged 57, 42, 33, 25 and 21 were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, possession of a firearm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon with intent, criminal damage and intimidation.

Police also conducted a number of searches seizing drugs from a property in Comber.

A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a number of drugs offences.
