Five charged after Sprucefield heroin bust
Five people have been charged after police seized more than 100 wraps of suspected heroin in policing operations in Lisburn and Belfast.
Police said 109 wraps of suspected heroin, worth around £2,700, were found after police officers noted people acting suspiciously in the Sprucefield area of Lisburn at around 7.30pm on Sunday.
During follow-up searches at two properties in north Belfast and one in the south of the city suspected class A and class B drugs were recovered, and a number of items seized including mobile phones, documents, cash and a computer.
The five have been charged with a range of drug importation, possession and supply offences and are due to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Tuesday morning.
As is usual procedure all charges will be reviewed by prosecutors.
