Five classrooms destroyed in deliberate Belfast blaze
A suspected arson attack has destroyed five mobile classrooms in Belfast, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.
The incident happened in the Barrack Street area of Belfast on Monday evening.
Inspector Swann said: “It was reported at approximately 10:00pm that there was a fire in this vicinity.
"Police along with NIFRS attended the scene and after the fire was extinguished, the damage caused to the mobiles was discovered.
"It is believed that access was gained at 9:15pm. This crime has caused thousands of pounds worth of damage and we are asking for the public’s assistance in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
A NIFRS spokesperson said two fire crews were sent to the scene at 9.53pm on Monday.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire. The cause of the fire appears to be deliberate.
The incident was dealt with at 10.52pm.
