Five held in Belfast swoop by drugs squad

Four men and a woman have been arrested for suspected drugs offences in Belfast.

Police raided houses in Tavanagh Street, College Court and Ballyhackamore yesterday morning.

PSNI Det Insp Peter Mullan said the arrests "are an indication of our ongoing commitment to keeping people safe".

He added: "Drugs have a far-reaching, negative impact on communities. Drugs can and do ruin people's lives. Individuals with a drug addiction often resort to crime to finance their habit."
