Flasher accused is denied bail
A man accused of flashing in front of a child was later beaten up by the alleged victim's father, a court has heard.
David Mervyn (34) faces a charge of exposing himself with the intention of causing alarm or distress.
The suspect, a married man who suffers from cystic fibrosis, was remanded in custody after being refused bail.
Mervyn, of Cambrai Drive in Newtownabbey, was arrested following his alleged exposure on the Antrim Road in north Belfast on Monday.
Belfast Magistrates Court heard claims that he was later confronted and assaulted by the child's father.
Defence solicitor Ciaran Toner said his client denied the charge.
Seeking bail, he told the court Mervyn was the primary carer for his wife, who also has health problems.
District Judge Fiona Bagnall denied the application because of the risk of further offences.
Mervyn was remanded in custody to appear in court again next month.
