Floral tributes have been left at the Co Antrim home of a young girl whose parents are accused of murdering her.

The funeral of Nadia Zofia Kalinowska (5) took place at an undisclosed location yesterday, while her body will be flown to Poland for burial at a later date.

The child's mother, Aleksandra Wahab (25), and stepfather, Abdul Wahab (31), have been accused of murder after Nadia's body was discovered in their Fernagh Drive home in Newtownabbey on December 15. Both were granted compassionate bail to attend yesterday's ceremony.

They also face counts of causing or allowing the death of a child, and grievous bodily harm with intent to the girl over a year-long period. The husband and wife, originally from Pakistan and Poland, deny all of the charges against them.

A number of flowers and a teddy bear were left outside their home yesterday to mark Nadia's funeral.

One note read: "Rest in peace beautiful princess."
