Forget the Costa del Sol - Northern Ireland will be hotter as 'mini heatwave' hits

Summer could finally be on the way as temperatures are forecast to soar above 20°C at the beginning of next week.

Temperatures in the Spain are predicted to only reach up to 18°C at the beginning of next week.

The ‘mini heatwave’ comes after an unseasonably cold April with many parts of Northern Ireland seeing some snow fall.

The next few days are forecast to remain mild and dry. Thursday is predicted to be a bright day with sunny spells with winds easy and reaching a maximum temperature 16 °C.

Friday will be a dry day, with some bright or hazy sunny spells. There will be some areas of thick cloud but it should stay dry. There will be light winds and a  maximum temperature of 15 °C.

The Met Office have forecast some heavy bursts of rain on Saturday but said it will warm up on Sunday and Monday as the better weather arrives.
