Former Tele cartoonist draws up colourful tour guide for kids
Two life-long friends from Northern Ireland who now live on opposite ends of the earth have collaborated on a children's guide to Ulster.
Ashley Craig, a former cartoonist with the Belfast Telegraph and now a primary school teacher in Singapore, created the new Itchy Feet Explorers Guides with former school chum Adrian Thompson, a business development director who now lives in England, with the aim of introducing kids to this part of the world, with its rich legend and iconic landmarks.
The guides are packed full of colourful stories, games and puzzles and have been self-published.
They are now on sale in bookstores and tourist information offices throughout Northern Ireland.
Adrian and Ashley, now parents, found themselves looking for travel guides to inspire their children, as well as Ashley's school pupils in Singapore, but deciding that none of those available fitted the bill.
They then decided they would pool their talents in order to fill the vacuum.
The guides' explorer Mick and his dogs Max and Molly visit famous sites like the Giant's Causeway and the Harland & Wolff Shipyard and learn of Northern Ireland's history through legends like Cuchulain.
