A Northern Ireland man who was missing in Benidorm has been found safe and well by his family who flew out to search for him.

Dean Currie, who is a father-of-two from Lurgan, arrived in the holiday resort on Sunday morning with his friend.

The 36-year-old left his hotel to buy alcohol that night and had not been seen since. He had his wallet with him containing around 600 euros - but left his mobile phone behind.

His brother Jamie thanked the public and explained that Dean got lost on the way home from buying drink. He checked every hotel but was not able to find his accommodation.

He's been to the police and gave his name and said he was lost.

"We found him walking up the beach front. He has been sleeping rough for a few days and looking at all the hotels. We just happened upon him.

"He went out for a drink and got lost on the way home. He's been sleeping in an abandoned hotel on the beach.

"It was great that we found him, it was a relief."
