Four arrested after stolen car crashes into vehicles in Lisburn

A stolen car driving on the wrong side of the road in the Lisburn area collided with several other vehicles yesterday morning, causing tailbacks for commuters.

Nobody was injured in the incident shortly after 8.30am on the Saintfield Road, the PSNI said.

Police arrested four male suspects following the rush-hour drama, three of whom are teenagers.

The vehicle involved was stolen from a house at Maze Park in Lisburn some time between 11pm on Tuesday and 7.30am on Wednesday.

Burglars entered the property and a number of items were taken along with the car.

The PSNI said: "Two males aged 16, one aged 17, as well as a 23-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including dangerous driving, using a motor vehicle without insurance and aggravated vehicle taking causing damage to the vehicle.

"We would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 314 29/5/19, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
