A 32-year-old man has been charged with possession of Class A drug heroin.

He is due to appear at Newry Magistrates Court on Friday.

The charges follow a property search in Newry on January 17 and the subsequent arrests of five people.

Two men, aged 34 and 46, have been charged possession of heroin, and are expected to appear at Newry Magistrates Court on February 14.

A 50-year-old woman has been charged with permitting premises to be used for supply of Class A drugs and is expected to appear in court on February 14.

A 56-year-old man has been released unconditionally.

As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
