Four children in Newcastle home as two men stabbed

Two men have been seriously injured in a stabbing in Newcastle while four children were in the house.

Police were called to a house in Burren Meadow at around 11.10pm on Wednesday following a report that two men had been attacked.

The victims, aged 37 and 40, sustained serious but non-life threatening wounds to their arms and neck and were taken to hospital for treatment.

A man and woman in their 30s, and four children who were also in the house at the time were not injured.

A 27-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder at the property, was also taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
