By Staff Reporter

Police in Sweden were on high alert last night after an explosion rocked Malmo within two hours of a gun attack.

It was not clear if the two events were linked.

Police said four people were injured in the shootings.

There were reports of witnesses hearing 20 gunshots being fired during a football derby at around 7pm local time in Censorgatan.

There were conflicting reports about what happened. One eyewitness said shots were fired by people in an Audi which drove off at high speed. Police found shells at the scene and said suspects may have escaped by moped.

Other reports said the shots had been fired by people on motor scooters who had been chasing the car. One person was said to have been shot in the head.

Two hours later, an explosion was reported around a kilometre away in the Heleneholm neighbourhood. The Mirror also reported a that a suspicious device was found outside a school in Gothenburg.
