Four man gang attack woman in her home

Detectives are investigating a serious assault on a 29-year-old woman in the Newtownards area on Thursday, February 4.

At around 10.10pm it was reported to police that four men, wearing balaclavas, had forced their way into a house in the Blenheim Drive area and attacked the woman with baseball bats.

She sustained serious, but not life threatening, injuries and had to be treated in hospital.

A male, who was also in the house at the time of the attack, escaped unhurt.

Before leaving, the four man gang ransacked the property and smashed a number of windows.

Detectives in Bangor are appealing for witnesses and want anyone who was in the Blenheim Drive area between 9.15pm and 10.15pm on February 4 to come forward.
