Four treated in hospital after brawl outside pub

A fight involving 20 people broke out in a Co Antrim village resulting in four people requiring hospital treatment.

The disturbance in the Main Street area of Cullybackey took place in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police attended the scene at around 2.10am and one man was arrested. He has been released pending a report.

A spokeswoman for Antrim Area Hospital confirmed three men and one woman were treated in A&E and then discharged.

A number of other people are thought to have been injured during the brawl but they left the area without speaking to police or ambulance service personnel.

It is understood to have taken place outside the Village Inn in Cullybackey. The manager of the bar said he had no comment to make on the matter.
