Frampton promoter Warren hits out a 'reptiles fleecing fans' for Donaire fight tickets
Boxing promoter Frank Warren has hit out at the "reptiles fleecing fans" by touting tickets for Carl Frampton's forthcoming fight.
The Jackal is to take on Filipino former four-weight World Champion Nonito Donaire at the SSE Arena in April.
Tickets for the fight, which will be shown on BT Sport went onsale on Thursday. However, as is usually the case for many events, some tickets have appeared on re-selling websites.
One fan tweeted Frank Warren asking what he was doing to stop the tickets finding themselves for sale at vastly inflated prices. He was quoted a price of £275 for a £131 ticket.
"For starters we don’t give them tickets like other promoters or are sponsored by them," Frank Warren replied in a tweet.
"There are under 50 Frampton tickets on Stubhub, put on by reptiles trying to fleece the fans ... compared to Bellew v Haye where there are about 500 (the magic number)."
Frampton linked up with Frank Warren and new gym MTK Global and trainer Jamie Moore after splitting from long term partner Barry McGuigan and his Cyclone Promotions.

A spokesperson from StubHub said, “Stubhub believes that tickets, like any other commodity, should be free to be given away, traded or resold as the ticket owner so wishes. Only a small percentage of tickets for any event are resold through StubHub and the majority go at face value or below. Without sites such as StubHub ticket resale is forced back onto the streets where consumers have no protection.”
