Free Belfast City Hall gig to celebrate Olympic Torch tour

A free outdoor concert is to be staged at Belfast City Hall to celebrate the Olympic Torch tour of Northern Ireland next month.

Indie popsters General Fiasco, Britain’s Got Talent dance act Twist and Pulse and City of Belfast School of Music Junior Choir are lined up for the June 6 gig.

Tickets for the event are available from the Belfast Welcome Centre, Donegall Place, Belfast , on a first come first served basis, with a limit of four tickets per person.

The torch is expected to arrive in Belfast late on June 2 but will leave from the new Titanic Belfast building just after 6am the next day to tour North Down and Ards, returning for stops at Stormont and Belfast Zoo.

The flame will then head towards Portrush before making its way across the border to Dublin.

The torch returns to Belfast on Wednesday, June 6, and crowds are expected to line the streets as it is taken on a two-hour tour of the city.
