Police are making a further appeal for witnesses to a fatal crash on the M2 on Boxing Day.

It happened near Templepatrick at around 8.40pm on December 26.

Stephen Martin, who was aged 36 and from Lisburn, died following the crash.

He was the 68th and last person to die on our roads in 2016.

The victim was the driver of a Seat Ibiza car that was involved in a collision with a number of other vehicles. Two other men sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police were forced to close the motorway between Sandyknowes and Templepatrick near the Applegreen service station.

Inspector Gary McComb said: "Whilst we want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, we are particularly looking to speak with any witnesses that may have been travelling northbound on the M2 at the time of the collision.
