Fresh appeal over suspicious death of Ronald Reid in Donaghadee

Police have issued a fresh appeal over the suspicious death of a man in Co Down on Christmas Eve.

The body of Ronald Reid (63) was discovered at his apartment on the Donaghadee Road in Bangor, and police have described his death as suspicious.

Police said a post-mortem examination identified a number of unexplained physical injuries on Mr Reid's body.

Detectives said they believed the injuries may have been sustained earlier.

Police yesterday updated their appeal for information about the circumstances surrounding Mr Reid's death.

They have re-issued an image of the victim and are distributing a flyer with circumstances of his death.

Detectives from the PSNI's Serious Crime Branch are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed anything around Mr Reid's Savoy flats complex on Friday, December 19.

Detective Chief Inspector Justyn Galloway, who is leading the investigation, said: "It is now more appropriate for Serious Crime Branch to take forward the investigation into what remains, at this stage, a suspicious death."
