Friends plan funeral tribute for slain teen

Friends of slain 12-year-old Michaela Davis are expected to form a guard of honour at her funeral this morning.

Final preparations were made yesterday to include some of her favourite music in the ceremony.

The 12-year-old was raped and strangled in the early hours of last Saturday morning, and her body dumped yards from her home.

The first-year student had begun secondary school just last Thursday. She had enrolled at Luttrellstown Community School and was due to start her first full week of schooling last Monday. |Escorted by gardai, her body was |returned to her parents on Tuesday evening.

A prayer service was held afterwards in their house in The Village, Porterstown.

On Monday Jonathan Byrne (18) of Lohunda Downs, Clonsilla, was charged with her murder.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in court again tomorrow morning.
