Fun day at McQuiston

Last Saturday (11th) McQuiston church threw its doors open to the local community for its second annual family fun day.

The day began with the children launching themselves on to the bouncy castles and enjoying a visit from the Northern Ireland Fire Brigade, while their parents took part in exhibitions of flower arranging, card making or just enjoyed a quiet cup of coffee in the church.

Everyone came together for a high energy puppet show staged by Crown Jesus Ministries followed by a barbecue, ‘McQuiston’s Got Talent’ show and face painting.

After a busy day that saw hundreds of adults and children enjoy the activities, all of which were free, spokesman Ben Johnston said: “It was great to see the church filled with so many people from the area, we hope there was something for everyone and those who came along certainly seemed to enjoy it.”

He added: “We as a church family want to continue investing in our community and this fun day was just one small way of doing that.”
